The Applicant shall be responsible for compliance with this SWSP, but the State Engineer's Office may also pursue the landowner for eventual compliance. The mine is permitted with the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety under File No. M- 2001 -090. The $257 fee has been accepted with receipt no. 3667471. SWSP Operations The Steamboat Sand and Gravel Pit is located in Section 21, Township 5 North, Range 84 West of the 6th P.M. in Routt County; Alpine is the operator of the site. This SWSP seeks to replace depletions resulting from the mining at the Steamboat Sand and Gravel Pit. The depletions that result from the mining operation include evaporation from exposed ground water, dust suppression, dewatering, water lost with the mined product, and irrigation losses. Out -of- priority depletions from the mining operation will be replaced through the use of historical consumptive use credits from dry -up of lands irrigated by the Suttle Ditch and Weiskopf Ditch water rights. Alpine proposes to mine the Steamboat Sand and Gravel Pit site in 15 distinct phases. At the completion of mining, a total of 10 unlined ponds with a total exposed surface area of approximately 56.6 acres of ground water will remain at this site. During this SWSP approval period, Alpine anticipates only operating the first phase of the project, which is designated as Phase 1A & 1.
