Colorado Interstate
Gas Company, L.L.C.
a Kinder Morgan company
To Whom It May Concern:
March 5, 2015
Kinder Morgan Inc. acquired El Paso Corporation on May 25, 2012. Colorado Interstate Gas Company, L.L.C.
(CIG) is a Kinder Morgan company. CIG has received and reviewed the information dated August 20, 2014. CIG
owns and operates one 20 -inch high pressure natural gas pipeline in the proposed project area. Attached is an
alignment sheet that shows the approximate location of the pipeline.
It appears that the top of slope of the gravel pits will be approximately 50 feet away from the pipeline. A
minimum of 50 feet separation must be maintained along the entire length of the pipeline. The slope must not
exceed the angle of repose.
It is understood that this project will not require any blasting and equipment will not be crossing the pipeline. At
no time is blasting or equipment crossing acceptable to CIG.
Also attached are two documents that outline CIG's concerns and requirements for construction near the
pipeline. The documents are OM200 -29, "Guidelines for Design and Construction near Kinder Morgan Operated
Facilities" and Operating and Maintenance Procedure 204 /Construction Standard C1005, "Construction near
Company Facilities ". CIG requires that a CIG representative be on site the entire time any excavation work is
being completed 25 feet or closer to the pipeline. Digging two feet or closer to the pipeline must be done by
soft techniques, hand or hydro vac.
If you have any questions about the alignment sheet, documents or other CIG facilities, please give Claudia Leal
a call at 303 - 914 -4626.
Sincerely,
Ronald D.
