Segment 07 is Reviewable, and is classified for the following beneficial uses: Aquatic Life, Class 1 Cold;
Recreation Class E; Water Supply; and Agriculture.
BASIS FOR STORMWATER DISCHARGE MONITORING
The Division has determined that the practice -based effluent limits (i.e., SWMP and BMP requirements) in the stormwater
discharge permit are adequate to protect all water quality standards and meet any TMDL requirements applicable to stormwater
discharges from this facility.
However, as allowed by the stormwater discharge permit, the Division requires that the permittee sample stormwater discharges
from the industrial activities conducted at the facility to: 1) measure the effectiveness of the BMPs implemented at the facility
with respect to removing pollutants from the discharge or meeting any applicable TMDL requirements and, 2) establish whether
additional BMPs are required for any other pollutants for which the receiving water is impaired. The enclosed permit certification
provides the sampling parameters for stormwater discharges from the facility.
if information becomes available that indicates the stormwater discharge permit does not protect all water quality standards or
meet applicable TMDL requirements, the Division may require an individual or alternate general permit coverage. The Division
will use results from the stormwater discharge monitoring as part of this determination. Rpfer to the next section below for
additional information.
BASIS FOR SITE- SPECIFIC PARAMETERS
The Division has developed and received EPA approval for a TMDL that addresses dissolved Zinc for Segment 07 of the Upper
Arkansas River Sub - basin, Arkansas basin. Because this parameter has the potential to be in stormwater discharges from metal
