PERMIT #: M- 2006 -080
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: March 11, 2015
OBSERVATIONS
This was an acreage release inspection (ARO1) of the Bokelman- Walters site, M2006 -080, conducted by Eric
Scott of DRMS. DRMS met Stephanie Fancher of Loveland Ready Mix at the site entrance at approximately
1030. The site entrance is located in Larimer County off the west side of County Line Road approximately
mile north of WCR 54. Ms. Fancher then accompanied DRMS to view the permit area.
ARO1 was submitted to DRMS on February 20, 2015. DRMS issued the required public notices on March 3,
2015. No responses to the notice letters have been received by DBMS to date. ARO1 requests the release from
the permit area of four separate un -mined areas totaling approximately 35 acres. Attached to this report is a
map of the proposed new permit boundary based on the submitted map, and features identified during this
inspection. Because none of the areas proposed to be released from the permit have been affected by any
mining activity (see attached photos), DRMS has no objection to removing them from the permit at this time.
However, it was noted during this inspection that the new permit boundary has not yet been clearly marked in
the field. The permit boundary in the area of the proposed release near the southeast corner, and the boundary
of the proposed north central release area will need to be clearly marked before ARO1 can be approved by
DBMS.
There was also some discussion during the inspection regarding the most appropriate permit boundary for the
northeastern area of the permit along the river. The boundary as proposed in the release request runs parallel to
the north bank of the river, however, it may be beneficial to the permittee to use the fence line used to delineate
the protected wildlife habitat in that area as the permit boundary. Due to the protected habitat, no disturbance
north of that fence would be allowable, and no mining is planed north of the river.
DRMS will need to be notified of the final permit boundary configuration along the northeast area of the permit,
and new maps depicting any changes to the current ARO1 maps in that area will need to be submitted. The
permittee will also need to provide DRMS with proof (coordinates /photos) that the new proposed boundary has
been appropriately marked in the field before AMO1 can be approved. Please submit this documentation to
DRMS within 30 days of the date on this inspection report or DRMS will have to deny the ARO1 revision.
It was noted that the only recent mining activity is within the Cell 1 slurry wall; however mining was not taking
place at the time of this inspection. The rest of the site remains essentially undisturbed. Activity at the site
appeared to be in compliance with the approved mining plan. This site appeared to be well -run and in good
condition otherwise - no other issues were noted at this time.
Inspection Contact Address
Stephanie Fancher
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc.
P.O.
