Meteoroloqical Data
Data from the National Climatic Data Center's Hayden Station is used
here to evaluate the precipitation trend. These data are provided in
Appendix Al. Precipitation data is summarized on Table 2. For this year,
21.25 inches of precipitation was measured, which is 3.13 inches (17 %)
above the 1981 -2013 average, 18.12 inches. All months except December,
February, April, June and September were above average. Snowpack runoff,
as estimated by totaling November through March precipitation values,
was 7.93 inches, which was 0.63 inches (8.6 %) above the 1981 -2013
average, 7.30 inches.
Ground Water
Water Levels. Water level data are presented in Appendix B. The table of
contents of Appendix B indicates which wells carry PSCM monitoring
requirements (all other wells were required by the old Seneca II Mine
permit). Water level reports for data collected since 2004 are presented
immediately after the water level hydrograph of all historic data for
each respective well. By presenting all historic data, trends related to
seasonal and annual variability and possible mining related impacts are
more clearly evident. Table 3 (Summary of Ground Water Monitoring Wells)
is presented as a reference for the reader. No monitor wells were
completed or abandoned this year. The ground water monitoring program is
presented on pages 7- 341/342 of the Seneca II PAP and on Table 2.04.7 -
T9, page 2.04 -104 (Vol. 1) of the PSCM PAP. Water level measurements
obtained in non - flowing wells are taken with a water level indicator, or
in the case of a few shallow alluvial wells, directly from a steel tape.
Pressure readings (in psi) obtained from flowing wells with pressure
gages are multiplied by 2.31 to obtain head in feet. For the sake of
brevity, the prefix that precedes all well names will be dropped
throughout this report (except in the case of nested wells with a
similar number) . As an example, Well SCAL46 may be referred to as Well
46.
3
