Topsoil
buried by the road base material is no longer considered topsoil and is relegated to A horizon
material at best. We would also suggest that this "A horizon" material be loosened through
subsoiling or chiseling to begin breaking apart any apparent hardpan that has developed.
If you have any questions regarding these recommendations please contact Eugene Backhaus,
State Resource Conservationist at 720 -544 -2868 or email Eugene.baekhausAco.usda.gov.
J /
EUGENE H.
