Zuber <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RECEIVED <br />FEB 2 7 2015 <br />Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining & Safety <br />Re: Southfield Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -014), Technical Revision No. 45 (M -45), Request to Modify <br />Vegetation Standards (CHS #67461) <br />Dear Mr. "Luber: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated February 10, 2015 (received by our office on February17, 2015) <br />regarding the above referenced technical revision. <br />Based on the documentation provided, it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected [36 CFR <br />800.4(d)(1)] is appropriate for the proposed action. <br />The Section 106 consultation process does involve other consulting parties such local governments and Tribes <br />which as stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information <br />provided by these or other consulting parties may cause our office to re- evaluate our comments and <br />recommendations. <br />Should unidentified archaeological resources be discovered in the course of the project, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources have been evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places eligibility <br />criteria (36 CFR 604) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
