A relatively small surface mining area is disturbed (approx. 8- <br />10 acres) and another few acres are utilized for work shops and storage of processed <br />stone. The following was discussed with the operator this date: <br />06910439/001 Stone Wholesale, Inc. 08LRO356F <br />Action: APEN Required <br />Permit Exempted <br />Re: Permit Application No. 08LR0356F (AIRS Point ID: 069/0439/001) <br />Surface mining activities at Brownstone Quarry located at 5240 West County Road 56, Laporte, <br />Larimer County, Colorado. <br />Dear Mr. Striggow, <br />Colorado Air Pollution Control Division (the Division) has reviewed your above application and Air Pollutant <br />Emission Notice (APEN). <br />It is determined that the above source is one of the listed sources that is specifically exempt from permit <br />requirements (per Regulation No. 3, Part B, II. D. 1. g. However, filing of an APEN is required as the <br />emissions exceed the APEN thresholds. <br />This exemption from permit requirements is issued in reliance upon the accuracy and completeness of <br />information supplied by the applicant, and is conditioned upon construction, installation, and operation in <br />accordance with this information and with representations made by the applicant or applicant's agents. <br />Specifically, this exemption has been granted provided that the following information is accurate and <br />complete: <br />Mining activities are less than 70,000 tons per year. <br />2011 tonnage total for stone mined = 2,408 34 tons, see Enclosure 1 for annual throughput figures. This <br />represents 3.4% of permit exemption. Compliant. <br />
