BROWNSTONE 2015 STATE EXHIBIT — L
RECLAMATION COSTS
The amendment area to be excavated and reclaimed is 4.4 acres or 191,664 square feet.
The average depth or overburden to be removed is 8'.
The total volume of overburden is 56,789 cubic yards
The total volume of topsoil averaging 3" deep is about 2,839 cubic yards
The mining plan to be employed in this amendment area allows for an approximate area 75'X 75'X 15'
to be excavated at one time sequentially to the adjacent area of the same approximate size. About half,
or 28,000 cubic yards, of the overburden will be bailed into the adjacent void with a Hitachi 450
Excavator as the mining process proceeds. The remaining overburden will be moved, by an off road
Volvo 6 wheel drive truck, to an area in the existing permitted area for stockpiling within 500 feet north
of the amendment area. The total of overburden to be completely removed and stockpiled is about
28,000 cubic yards. The total of topsoil to be completely removed and stockpiled is about 2,839 cubic
yards. The topsoil will be stripped and stockpiled using a front end loader as the 75'X 75'X 15' areas are
sequentially mined. Topsoil stockpiling will be located in the same vicinity as the overburden in a
separate pile, 500 feet north of the amendment area.
Current hydro- seeding prices for the 4.4 acres of disturbed land at $2840 per acre would be
approximately $12,493.65.
