life form was grasses with 68.3% relative cover. The predominant grasses were <br />western wheatgrass (10.6% cover), intermediate wheatgrass (3.1%) and slender <br />wheatgrass (2.9 %). Few shrubs were observed on the site, with the majority of what <br />was present being on the west side of the disturbance. Vegetative cover was good <br />and no erosion problems were noted. Herbaceous production in 2012 was 586 <br />pounds per acre. This low number is attributed to the drought. <br />Total vegetative cover on the West Mine area was 28.1 % in 2012. The predominant <br />life form was grasses with 94.0% relative cover. The predominant grasses were <br />crested wheatgrass (16.0% cover), alpine foxtail (5.3%) and western wheatgrass <br />(5.1 %). Few shrubs were observed on the site. Vegetative cover was good and no <br />erosion problems were noted. Herbaceous production in 2012 was 519 pounds per <br />acre. This low number is attributed to the drought. <br />Total vegetative cover on the Bleeder Entries area was 24.0% in 2012. The <br />predominant life form was grasses with 90.0% relative cover. The predominant <br />grasses were smooth brome (17.5% cover), western wheatgrass (2.0 %) and <br />intermediate wheatgrass (2.0 %). Few shrubs were observed on the site. Vegetative <br />cover was good and no erosion problems were noted. Herbaceous production in <br />2012 was 192 pounds per acre. This low number is attributed to the drought. <br />2013 Data <br />Conditions were considerably better in 2013 than in 2012 with respect to <br />precipitation. Precipitation was higher throughout the winter and in the months prior <br />to sampling. Both of these improved factors resulted in much higher values for cover <br />and production on the reclaimed areas. <br />Total vegetative cover on the East Mine area was 27.4% in 2013. The predominant <br />life form was grasses with 65.0% relative cover. The predominant grasses were <br />western wheatgrass (14.8% cover), Idaho fescue (1.7 %) and crested and intermediate <br />wheatgrass (both at 1.3 %). Few shrubs were observed on the site, with the majority <br />of what was present being on the west side of the disturbance. Vegetative cover was <br />good and no erosion problems were noted. Herbaceous production in 2013 was <br />1,195 pounds per acre. <br />Total vegetative cover on the West Mine area was 39.3% in 2013. The predominant <br />life form was grasses with 72.3% relative cover. The predominant species were <br />crested wheatgrass (17.0% cover), yellow sweet clover (6.0 %) and rubber rabbit <br />brush (5.4 %). Vegetative cover was good and no erosion problems were noted. <br />Herbaceous production in 2013 was 1,309 pounds per acre. <br />Total vegetative cover on the Bleeder Entries area was 30.5% in 2013. The <br />predominant life form was grasses with 85.2% relative cover.
