Drought conditions persist in the Upper Purgatoire basin and continue to stress
natural vegetation in the area. The reclaimed area which is the focus of the new proposal
faces south with no seasonal relief from the sun. The proposed plan recommends that
transplants are watered twice during the first season of transplant; however, CPW
recommends watering twice monthly during the first and second season to ensure proper
rooting.
We appreciate the opportunity to have visited the site and provide these comments.
Sincerely,
Mike Trujillo
Area Wildlife Manager
STATE OF COLORADO
John W.Hickenlooper,Governor•Mike King,Executive Director,Department of Natural Resources
Bob D.Broscheid,Director,Colorado Parks and Wildlife
Parks and Wildlife Commission:Robert W.Bray•Chris Castilian,Secretary•Jeanne Home
Bill Kane,Chair•Gaspar Perricone•James Pribyl•John Singletary
Mark Smith,Vice-Chair•James Vigil•Dean Wingfield•Michelle Zimmerman
Ex Officio Members:Mike King and John Salazar
