minor diversion during the site visit but it did not appear that it had ever transmitted much, if any, water.
Post - mining land use for the reclaimed sites is rangeland. The company used to lease areas of the mine out to
cattle grazers for some time but this has since been discontinued as it was negatively affecting the reclamation
since the animals tended to overgraze certain areas.
The proposed bond release was posted in the Fort Lupton Press for four consecutive weeks beginning December
17, 2014 and ending on January 7, 2015. An affidavit of publication for the public notice was included in the
company's bond release application.
The two main topsoil piles were also visited during this inspection. The company has recently been pulling
material out of the A and B horizon topsoil piles for use in the reclamation. The area being excavated was
freshly graded to control erosion and the mine personnel stated that they would be re- seeding this section in the
fall of 2014 after the reclamation work is complete.
CC: DRMS, Denver, CO
Coors Energy Company, Keenesburg, CO
FIGURES
Figure 1: Parcel 32.
