DRMS recently sent
TOTAL a Notice of Deficiencies (Notice) for the Preas
Exploration Project Notice of Intent to Conduct Prospecting
Operations (NOI), DRMS File No. P- 2014 -022. In the Notice,
DRMS identified three (3) clarifications that were requested to be
addressed prior to approval for the commencement of drilling
operations. This letter is the formal response for these
clarifications, which will each be addressed in turn.
1. Due to the possibility of encountering groundwater please
commit to the use of plugging and abandoning of the proposed
exploration holes with Portland cement.
As we discussed on the phone, the area in which the Preas
Exploration Project is anticipated to occur is a unique
geologic /topographic setting in which the drill holes are spotted on
the top of generally north -south trending ridges that are isolated
from one another by deep drainages, with relief often exceeding
500 feet between ridge top and drainage floor (see Figure 2 of
NOI). The strata are found to dip gently to the west. This unique
setting precludes the development of extensive groundwater
occurrences within the isolated ridges for several reasons.
136 East South Temple, 121" Floor - Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 USA • Tel 801.539.0044 • USA 800.266.6351 • Fax 801.539.0055 • www.norwestcorp.com
SALT LAKE CITY / CALGARY / DENVER / VANCOUVER / EVANSVILLE / SASKATOON / GRAND JUNCTION / CHARLESTON WV
