Compliance With Mine Plan-Support Facilities Not On-site <br />RNA <br />-Other-Special Categories Of Mining <br />RR <br />-Processing Waste-Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />A complete inspection of the King Coal Mine was conducted byDivision of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety staff on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Representing the Division were <br />Marcia Talvitie; Dan Hernandez, Senior Environmental Protection Specialist; and Tabetha <br />Lynch, a new Environmental Protection Specialist with the Coal Program. All areas of the King <br />I and King II facilities were inspected on foot with Wade Wymore and Michael McFarland, who <br />together represented GCC Energy, LLC. <br />Skies were generally clear, and the weather (for January) was unseasonably warm, with <br />temperatures in the low 50s. The area received several inches of wet snow approximately two <br />weeks prior to the inspection. Much of the snow had already melted, due to the recent mild <br />weather. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />TR-20 <br />Coal Mine Waste as Highwall Backfill –The Division’s second adequacy review was <br />issued on Nov. 14, 2014. The Decision Due datehasbeenextended to Feb. 27, 2015. <br />MR-40 <br />AHR Water Year and Submittal Date –The Division issued an adequacy review on Jan. <br />23, 2015. The Decision Date has been extended to Feb. 27, 2015. <br />TR-__ <br />The Division requested previouslythat GCC submit a new application reflecting as- <br />constructed surface drainage conditions at the King II Mine facilities. This application shouldbe <br />received by the Division no later than Mar. 20, 2015. <br />Reports <br />-The 2014 Annual Hydrology Report was submitted on Jan. 14, 2015. Quarterly <br />reports for sediment pond inspections, refuse pile, water sampling and subsidence were received <br />on the same date. GCC’s amended annual pond certification for King II was received on Jan. 28, <br />st <br />2015.
