since the summer of 2000 and is now (April 2003) in need of expanding into other areas of the
Alma Placer property. By processing the old piles, the site can be leveled and the processing
will also produce a fine material that will be used as a substitute topsoil to revegetate the site.
Also, it is desired that a portable concrete plant be brought to the site for short periods to satisfy
specific jobs. The original plan submitted to the town of Alma included the allowance of an
asphalt plant on site. The town voiced opposition to this plant, even on a short term basis. In
order to cooperate with the town, the permittee hereby states that no asphalt plant will be placed
on site at any time without written permission from the town of Alma.
For the changes described above, it has been decided to amend the existing gold placer mining
112 permit M -85 -029 to include a much larger sand and gravel mining area, to include a
portable concrete plant, as well as provide good reclamation standards for all areas re- disturbed.
Minor changes to the gold mining operation have also been incorporated into this Amendment
of August, 2003.
It is the hope of the Ducommun Business Trust that the additional gravel mining will restore the
land to an attractive, usable condition which is good for the Trust as well as the town of Alma.
The Trust eventually would like to develop those areas reclaimed into a residential area with
commercial uses along Highway 9. Some open space with ponds would also be incorporated
into the final plan.
In 2004, a Technical Revision 01 was made to revise the bond for the gold portion of the
operation. In August of 2006, Technical Revision 02 was approved to allow the use of a
flocculent to coagulate fines for the gold sluice operation. In June of 2009, TR -03 was approved
to modify the gold operation and change the bond amount.
The DRMS permit for the Alma Placer Mine, (M- 1985 -029), was transferred to a new owner
company, Alma Placer Company, LLC in January of 2010.
In June of 2012, the permit was again transferred to High Mountain Mining, LLC. In
September of 2012, TR -08 was submitted to address the installation of a new office and mill on
Alma Placer Mine 1115 4
