Photo 8 — Well CWI -DH -60 Downhole Video Camera
2.5 Well CWI -DH -58
Beginning August 25, 2014 an attempt was made to clean well CWI- DH -58, cement the lower
portion of the well to isolate the upper two screened intervals, and rehabilitate \develop these
screened intervals. Poor road conditions after several days of rain delayed the arrival of the
RACS workover rig until September 2, 2014. According to the well completion diagram
provided by Bowie, CWI -DH -58 has a total depth of 1,914 feet. The top 1,580 feet has 4 -inch
diameter steel casing that transitions to 2 -inch diameter Sch. 80 PVC casing and there are
multiple screened intervals from 1,594 feet to 1,894 feet. The point of transition from 4 -inch
diameter to 2 -inch diameter casing proved to be the critical obstacle to overcome in this well.
The hole was first cleaned on September 2, 2014 using a water jetting tool attached to the end of
a string of tremie pipe. After dropping the tremie to a depth of 1,561 feet, water was jetted and
more tremie pipe added to a depth of 1,794 feet where jetting was stopped, due to depletion of
the water in the 4,000 gallon water truck. During the injection of 4,000 gallons of water into the
well, none of the water was observed returning to the surface. On September 3, 2014 an attempt
was made to video the well; however, the video camera was unable to enter the 2 -inch casing at
the cross -over from the 4 -inch casing, getting hung up at the transition point. After several
unsuccessful attempts to enter the 2 -inch casing, a special wire "nose cone" was fabricated by
RACS and attached to the camera that allowed a smooth transition into the 2 -inch casing. The
video showed the cross -over at 1,574' and three perforated intervals in the 2 -inch casing to a
depth of about 1,720 feet. Very murky water was encountered at about 1,720 feet and below this
nothing is visible in the video.
November 2014 HydroCeo, Inc.
