Therefore, exposure of ground <br />water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® The applicant has indicated plans to use water for the following purposes at the permit site: ❑ <br />evaporation, ❑ dust control, ❑ reclamation, ❑ water removed in the mined product, ❑ processing, <br />® other: ore sorting. The applicant will need to document that this water was obtained from a legal <br />source, or was diverted in priority under a water right decreed for such mining/ industrial use. <br />COMMENTS: The subject application is for a surface mining operation on approximately 1 permitted acre of <br />National Forest land. The primary commodities to be mined at the site are gold and silver. The site is <br />proposed to be reclaimed to its current use of pastureland upon completion of this mining operation. <br />The only anticipated use of water at the site it for ore processing. Up to 500 gallons of water is proposed to be <br />stored'in a tank onsite for this purpose. The source of this water was not identified. <br />The proposed mining site will be located approximately 800 feet south of Russell Gulch, an intermittent <br />stream. According to the submittal, the stream is not anticipated to be affected by the proposed mining <br />operation. <br />If stormwater runoff is intercepted by this operation and is not diverted or captured in priority, it must be <br />released to the stream system within 72 hours; otherwise the operator will need to make replacements for <br />evaporation. <br />The applicant may contact the State Engineer's Office with any questions. <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 821, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3581 F 303.866.3585 www.water.state.co.us <br />.0- V °p�o�. <br />1876 <br />
