PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC (PSCM), 36600 Routt County Road 27, Hayden, <br />Colorado 81639, has submitted an application for renewal of the existing active Mining <br />Permit (Permit Number C- 2009 -087) for the Peabody Sage Creek Mine. <br />The mine permit area encompasses approximately 10,164 acres and is located <br />approximately 9 miles southeast of Hayden, CO on Routt County Road (RCR) 27. Mine <br />offices and major surface facilities are located near the end of RCR 27A. The Mine <br />Permit Area includes portions of RCR 27 and RCR 51D, although mining and related <br />activities may only occur in approved portions of the permit area as specified in the <br />approved Mining Permit. <br />The mine permit area is covered by the Milner, Mount Harris, and Dunckley USGS 7.5 <br />minute quadrangle maps, and includes all or portions of Sections 27 through 29, and <br />Sections 32 through 36 T6N, R87W. The permit area also includes all or portions of <br />Sections 1 through 5, 8 through 12, 13 through 16, and 21 through 22 T5N, R87W. The <br />ownership, precise location, and boundaries of lands within the Permit are identified in <br />Section 2.03 and Map 2.03.4 -M1 of the Mine Permit Application Package (PAP), and are <br />included in this public notice by reference. <br />Copies of the PAP (less confidential materials) are available for inspection at the mine <br />office and the office of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety. A <br />copy of the Renewal Application is also available for public inspection at the: <br />Hayden Public Library <br />West Routt Library District <br />201 East Jefferson Avenue <br />Hayden, CO 81639 <br />(970) 276 -3777 <br />Written comments or objections to the Permit renewal application; a request for informal <br />conference summarizing the requestor's issue(s) and indicating whether or not the <br />requestor desires the conference to be held in the mine locale; or a request for a public <br />hearing (held in the mine locale) to determine whether the interests of the public and <br />affected landowners will be protected (re: proximity of mining operations to public roads) <br />should be submitted to the State of Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Mining, and <br />Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203 -2273 within thirty <br />days of the last date of publication of this notice. <br />
