New Elk Coal Company <br />4. DRMS - Pages 2.05 -7a and 2.05 -7b describe the haul road design that was approved <br />with TR66. Please update pages 2.05 -7a and 2.05 -7b to reflect the new design. <br />NECC - Pages 2.05 -7a through 7d were revised reflect the new design. <br />DRMS — There are two additional locations in the revised text where "access <br />roads" are mentioned when "haul roads" would be appropriate: Page 2.05 - <br />7b, first sentence of the 4th paragraph from the bottom, and Page 2.05 -7c, 4th <br />line in the "Haul Road and Access Road Maintenance" paragraph. <br />NECC - Pages 2.05 -7a through 7d were revised. <br />5. DRMS — No action is necessary <br />7. DRMS - Exhibit 19(25) seeks to determine the effect of adding a new culvert (C 19) <br />which will divert flow to the north of the main mine haul road, from the south -east <br />corner of the 4- way intersection, and reduce the discharge volume traveling through <br />the "C 16 system ". The exhibit cites flow values from tables 20 and 21, and also <br />updates those tables with revised calculated values for the structures affected. <br />a. The flow through C19 is equivalent to the flow through C9, the value for which is <br />taken from table 21(2.71 cfs). On inspection of Map 13, C9 conveys the flow of <br />ditch D6. According to table 20, the flow through D6 is 3.98cfs. Please check the <br />calculations for C9 and D6, updating the exhibits and tables as appropriate. <br />NECC - The flow in C9 was changed to 3.98 cfs which is the flow in D6. <br />DRMS — Item Resolved <br />b. The flow for D 15 is both cited and updated. The value cited from table 20 is <br />8.75cfs. On inspection of Map 13, D15 conveys the combined flow of C8 and <br />D13 (table values of 3.77 and 0.59cfs, respectively) which equates to 4.36cfs. <br />Please check the calculations for C8, D13 and D15, updating the exhibits and <br />tables as appropriate. Since the discharge volume of D15 is being updated it would <br />be preferable to amend Exhibit 19(25) to cite C8 and D13 instead. <br />NECC - The flow in D 15 does carry the combined flow of C8 and D 13. D 15 also has <br />a drainage area that would increase the flow. NECC believes the citation for D 15 in <br />Exhibit 19(25) is correct. <br />DRMS — Item Resolved <br />
