1
CA EXHIBIT H
CROSSFIRE AGGREGRATE
SERVICES,LLC
THREATENED,ENDANGERED,AND CANDIDATE SPECIES
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service(USFWS) lists seven(7)species as with potential to occur in
the project region. The USFWS web site:"Trust Resources List"was consulted on August 26,2014,after
a field survey of the project area.Six(6)of the listed species have been eliminated from detailed
evaluation as the project area either does not provide habitat for these species, it is outside of their
known range,or no individuals of the species are known to occur,or have been identified within the
region.These species are;Colorado pikeminnow(Ptychocheilus Lucius), razorback sucker(Xyrauchen
texanus),Mexican spotted owl(Strix occidentalis lucida),southwestern willow flycatcher(Empidonax
traillii extimus),yellow-billed cuckoo(Coccyzus american)and New Mexico meadow jumping mouse
(Zapus hudsonius luteus).A field review of the proposed project area found no potentially suitable
habitats for these six(6)species.
Within the project area there is a small area(approximately 0.5 acre)of black sagebrush (Artemisia
nova)on an eastern facing slope. This black sagebrush area has the remote potential for Knowlton's
cactus(Pediocactus knoltonii). However, the soil type of the project area is not the same as the soils of
known Knowlton's cactus site. The black sagebrush portion of the project area will be surveyed during
the appropriate inspection time in the spring of 2015.See Table 1 for details on these federally listed
species.
Table 1:Threatened,Endangered,Candidate and Proposed Listed Species La Plata County,Coloradol
i ¢ a2 4 iiif ..:"C.,:'''',.,:' ` }`4", 1 t: F '*29 : „;':'.'.,."5,,
Tertiary alluvial deposits;
slopes or hills;dry pinon-
Knowlton's Pediocactus juniper under shade of Species not known
FE from the project
Cactus knowltonii trees/shrubs 1800-2000
area.
m.
