PPIPI (4 <br /> CROSSFIRE AGGREGRATE EXHIBIT D <br /> SERVICES,LLC <br /> Mining Plan <br /> Mining Limits <br /> Crossfire Aggregate Services proposes to mine the southeast 1/4 of Section 36,Township 33 North, <br /> Range 10 West,and a the north 1/2 of Section 1,Township 32 North, Range 10 West, in La Plata County, <br /> Colorado. The site lies approximately 20 miles south of the City of Durango and approximately 1 mile <br /> from US-550 along Co Rd. 213. Access to the site will be by way of an easement through private <br /> property off of Co. Rd. 213 to the west. <br /> An aggregate processing plant will be located within the mining areas as shown on the Mining Plan Map. <br /> The area will contain stockpiles and portable equipment as necessary to support the plant operations. <br /> The permit boundary will encompass approximately 220 acres with approximately 170 acres being <br /> mined. The remaining area will consist of mining buffers,setbacks, access roads,and utility rights-of <br /> way,equipment storage,and an operations area. <br /> Various setbacks from adjacent slopes, manmade structures,and natural drainage features will be <br /> maintained as mining occurs. See Exhibit C, Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map, and the Geotechnical <br /> Slope Stability Report for the mining limit configuration and information of setbacks and their locations. <br /> Products <br /> Sand and Gravel will be the primary product produced from the Bonds Pit site. The principal intended <br /> use for sand and gravel is for road base and construction aggregates. <br /> Subsurface drilling and testing has verified that the Bonds Pit property contains a significant commercial <br /> deposit of sand and gravel. The depth of the overburden ranges from 2'to 34'. The thickness of the <br /> aggregate material ranges from 20'to 60'. The overall depth to bedrock ranges from 30'to 100+'. See <br /> Exhibit I, Soils Information,for detailed data on the nature, depth, and thickness of the soil strata <br /> present in the property area. <br /> Mining Methods <br /> The deposit will be dry mined with diversion berms constructed around the perimeter of each mining <br /> phase prior to commencing mining operations. Entrapped water will be pumped to temporary <br /> dewatering ditches eventually outfalling to Deer Creek and the Animas River.
