December 18, 2014 C- 1981 - 018 /Deserado Mine ZTT <br />collects runoff from the reclaimed Refuse Pile 1 was dry. Primary discharge pipe was clear. Pond RP -2/3 was <br />recently cleaned in the upper cells of the pond. RP -2/3 holds minimal water with no discharge. RP -4 and RP -5 also <br />held minimal water with no discharge. <br />Ponds RR -1, SS -1, SS -2 and RRS -1 were all dry. No issues observed. <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br />Construction continues on the second nitrogen injection plant. Buildings for the plant were being placed during the <br />inspection. <br />Maintenance on the rock dust tank adjacent to the B -seam dewatering pond system was being conducted. A crack <br />in the casing has allowed water into the rock dust tank pipe. <br />Construction material related to the failed B -seam vent shaft was inspected. It is determined by the Division that <br />this is not topsoil. No issues related to the construction material were observed. <br />Nitrogen injection building. <br />Rock dust tank repair work. <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />Coal fines cleanings from the conveyor belt were piled just below the belt line. Scott stated that general <br />maintenance on the belt was being performed and all fines are to be transported to the refuse piles. <br />There was no activity at the refuse piles during the inspection.
