Box 483
Paonia, CO 81428
Re: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C- 1996 -083)
October and November 2014 CDPS Discharge Monitoring Reports
Dear Mr. Bear:
The Division has received and reviewed Bowie Resources, LLC's (BRL's) October and November
2014 Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. BRL submits the DMRs to
the Division monthly in accordance with Rule 4.05.13(2); the CDPS permit for the site requires
that the reports be submitted to the Water Quality Control Division of the Colorado Department of
Public Health and Environment no later than the 281h day of the month following the monitoring
period. The October and November reports were received by the Division on January 12, 2014.
To ensure compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2) and the approved Bowie No. 2 Mine permit
application, please submit future reports no later than the end of the month following the
monitoring period.
BRL reported the following discharges:
October - Pond C and the sewage treatment plant;
November - Pond B and the sewage treatment plant.
The discharges reported are consistent with Division observations of water levels during the
months of October and November.
BRL reported a settleable solids concentration of 27.0 in the discharge from Pond B in November.
It would appear that this value is in error (27.0 was also reported for suspended solids and was
possibly a duplicate entry). Please provide the correct value for measured settleable solids in
the Pond B discharge in November.
C( F f
J
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http: / /mining.state.co.us I
John W.
