€CI
HISTORY
00 vO
January 6, 2015 D 1 ? T
Marcia L. Talvitie Ok ?, Wm
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -038), Technical Revision No. 59 (M -59), Incidental Permit
Boundary Revision (CHS #67175)
Dear Ms. Talvide:
Thank you for your correspondence dated December 29, 2014 (received by our office on December 31, 2014)
regarding the referenced undertaking.
As the permitted, affected or approved disturbed acreage within the Bowie No. 1 Mine will not change and as
the undertaking appears largely administrative in nature, it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties
affected is appropriate for this undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1).
The consultation process does involve other consulting parties including local governments and Tribes, which as
stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided by
these consulting parties may cause our office to re- evaluate our comments and recommendations.
If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be
interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places
eligibility criteria (36 CFR 604) in consultation with our office.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Mark Tobias,
Section 106 Compliance Manager, at (303) 866 -4674 or mark. tobias(2state.co.us.
Sincerely,
A J0--
/ •Lul
dward C.
