Talvitie Ok ?, Wm <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -038), Technical Revision No. 59 (M -59), Incidental Permit <br />Boundary Revision (CHS #67175) <br />Dear Ms. Talvide: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated December 29, 2014 (received by our office on December 31, 2014) <br />regarding the referenced undertaking. <br />As the permitted, affected or approved disturbed acreage within the Bowie No. 1 Mine will not change and as <br />the undertaking appears largely administrative in nature, it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties <br />affected is appropriate for this undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />The consultation process does involve other consulting parties including local governments and Tribes, which as <br />stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided by <br />these consulting parties may cause our office to re- evaluate our comments and recommendations. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places <br />eligibility criteria (36 CFR 604) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
