Box 1488,Peonia, CO, 81424 has sub- mitted an application for a partial bond release to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its mining permit No. C- 1961 -038. The mining permit was initially ap proved on September 24, 1981 and' renewed on April 20, 2013. The cur- rent reclamation bond is $5,761,290 and is in the form of three corpo- rate surety bonds. This permit ac- tion will release about $25o,000 from the reclamation bond. The area for which partial bond release is being requested is at the Bowie No. 1, East and West Mines. During the period 2000 through 2002, a portion of the West mine was returned to approximate origi- nal contours and seeded. During 2008, the Timber Storage Area located at the East mine was re- turned to AOC and seeded. During the ensuing years the veg- etation has flourished. Based on a vegetation evaluation performed during June 2013, a demonstration was made that untreated drainage from the reclaimed areas da not contribute additional suspended solids above natural conditions. The vegetation study concludes the area sampled appears to be more than capable of supporting post - mining land uses. The 13 -8 acres eligible for phase Ii bond release and the 0.45 acres eli- gible for phase 1 bond release at the West mine are located in the NW14 afitf'the EI MNE14 of Seohan 28, and tha'SW14$W/4.of Section 14, Township 13 South Range 92 West, 6th P.M. The 16.2 acres eligible for phase 11 bond release at the Timber Storage Area are located in the NW14 of section 25 Township 13 South Range 92 West, 6th P.M.
