r
J
PERMIT #: M- 1998 -022
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: DMC
INSPECTION DATE: December 11, 2014
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's (Division) normal monitoring
program. Frank Gutierrez, representing the Operator, and Bill Balaz (Tetra Tech) were present during this inspection.
Photographs are included with this report in order to illustrate some of the conditions observed.
The Conger Harvesting Area is located approximately 1.5 miles west of Marble and accessed from CR3. The site is a
112c operation that includes a total of 29.43 permitted acres. The Division currently holds a financial warranty amount of
$7,725.00 for this site.
Adequate mine identification signage was noted on the gate at the entrance to the site.
The affected area was marked by t -posts that were clearly visible and adequate to delineate the affected area boundary
Mining and reclamation are completed in the private land portion of the permit area. Mined slopes have been graded to
blend with the surrounding area and appear stable. Where soil exists vegetation is becoming well established. No
potential problems were noted in this area.
The operator anticipates revising the permit to relocate the access to the USFS property. The new access would utilize an
existing road located on private property owned by Robert Raymond. The existing road terminates at the USFS property
line. Before the road can be utilized maintenance will be necessary, but significant upgrades are no anticipated. It was
determined that the existing road does not need to be included in the permit area.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Dustin Czapla at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 31' Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number
(970) 243 -6299.
