Weather conditions at the time of the flight were clear; the <br />ground was covered in snow with the exception of active roads and material handling areas that had been cleared. <br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine is actively mining in the B Seam, west of Terror Creek, in Panel B 16. Refuse was being <br />hauled to the western drying area of Gob Pile #3. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 - Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds B, C, D, F, and J were photographed. All of the photographed ponds held water and had a layer of ice and <br />snow over the water surface. No running water was observed on the refuse piles or associated ditches. <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES Rule 4.10 and 4.11 - Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br />Gob Piles 41, 92, and 44 were idle at the time of the inspection. <br />• Windrows of refuse material were observed on the upper bench of Gob Pile #2. <br />• Material in the central area of Gob Piles #2 and #4, where the two piles are being combined, had been <br />graded and compacted since the last Division inspection. <br />• Cover material had been placed and partially spread on the second bench of Gob Pile #2, east of Ditch D- <br />F 14. <br />Gob Pile #3 <br />• Refuse material was being hauled to the drying area on the west /southwest end of the pile. <br />• Windrows of refuse material were in place on the central area of the pile. <br />• Cover material was being excavated on the east end of the pile. <br />• The east end of the pile will be utilized as a drying area over the winter months; no refuse material had <br />been placed in the drying area at the time of the inspection. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
