PUBLIC NOTICE <br />New Elk Coal Company LLC, 12250 Highway 12, <br />Weston, CO 81091, the operator of the New Elk Mine, <br />Permit number C -81 -012, is filing for a technical revision <br />to the New Elk Mine Permit with the State of Colorado, <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Permit C -81- <br />012 renewal was approved by the Division on April 13, <br />2009. For filing purposes, this technical revision <br />application was deemed complete by the Division on <br />October 29, 2013. <br />The New Elk Mine is located approximately 7 miles west <br />of Weston, Colorado on State Hwy. 12, within Sections <br />13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28, TS33S, R68W. <br />These sections can be located on the USGS 7.5 minute <br />Vigil and Weston quadrangle maps. A total of 222.6 acres <br />of surface disturbance from mining related activity is <br />covered by a Letter of Credit Bond and Cash Bond in the <br />amount of $4,133,137.02. <br />The technical revision is a result of Division Mid -term <br />permit review addressing reclamation bond calculations <br />and facilities update. <br />The technical revision is on file for public inspection at the <br />Las Animas County Courthouse, Office of County <br />Recorder and with the Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />Any written comments, objections or requests for a public <br />hearing or informal conference regarding this bond <br />release application must be submitted to the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203 within 10 days of the <br />date of the publication of this notice. <br />Published: December 20, 2013 51463 <br />
