We understand
the core was obtained from six holes drilled by others on the Hitch Rack Ranch, about 8
miles south of Colorado Springs, west of Colorado Highway 115 in El Paso County,
Colorado. Detail core logs are presented on Figs. 1 through 14 attached. Also attached
are photographs taken of the core, as delivered.
Five samples of core were selected from four of the holes by your representative,
Mr. Bob Stabo, for laboratory physical property testing in accordance with ASTM C -33.
The cores selected were transported to our Denver Laboratory for the testing. The
samples were crushed and graded to fall within the specification limits of ASTM C -33 for
numbers 57 and 67 coarse concrete aggregate. Results of laboratory testing are
presented on Table I enclosed. The Soundness testing for the sample from B -3 was not
completed at the time this letter was prepared. Based on the testing completed to date,
we estimate the loss will be between 2 and 6 %.
If we can be of further service in discussing the contents of this letter or the
testing, please call.
CTL I THOMPSON, INC
J*114W • "C"
William C.
