Deertrail Series
The Deertrail scrie consists of well- drained, nearly
level soils on uplands. These soils fortned in Nvind -de-
p(xtite(1 loamy matcrial. In Adams County. they occur
only in a complex with Weld soils.
In a representative profile, the surface laver is light
I) inches thick. It is noncalcareous. The upper part of
the sulwoil is brown and light brownish-gray clay about,
12 inches thick. It. is nonralcareous. The loner part of
this subsoil is very pale brown silty clay loans about 11
inclo -s thick. It is highly calcareous, and niur_h of (fie,
lime is visible as streaks and spots. The underlying ina-
tkrial, below a depth of 32 inches, is highly calcareous.
very pale brown IAam.
Deertrail %oils str3orb water slowly, and the available
water capacity is very low. PernleftWity is slow. Hoots
