The permit number is M- 2013 -007. The reduction of 8.98 acres has never been
affected by the operation therefore, no reclamation rules are in effect. A separate letter
request for the reduction in permit area is being made to you. This change is part of a
Technical Revision which is attached to this cover letter. The revision encompasses the
following changes:
1) The access road that is parallel to T Road has been shortened in length. It will
leave T Road and branch off to the pit approximately 990 feet west of T Roads'
intersection with Horsefly Creek.
2) The original office /shop area that was permitted further east of Horsefly Creek on
T Road has been eliminated. The office /shop has been moved to the portion of the
permit area that is located west of the Montrose Canal.
3) The visual berm that was to be left until the end of mining and then removed will
now be left in place. Therefore, the slope to the pit on the terrace will never be
changed. All mining will occur inside this natural berm.
Changes 2 and 3 will result in reductions to the permit area, therefore, all new maps have
been provided in the Technical Revision.
Although the changes are relatively small, many pages have changed, therefore, a new
full permit has been provided as part of the Technical Revision. It is understood that the
permit has recently changed operators from Rocky Mountain Aggregate and
Construction, LLC to Lazy K -Bar and Cattle Company, LLLP. The attached pages now
include Lazy K as the permittee and operator.
