December 31, 2014 C -1981 -010 /Trapper Mine JLE
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
The D/E pit appeared idle.
One dragline appeared to be inactive at the time of the inspection.
One dragline appeared to be mining in the K- Strike or M -Pit at the northwest portion of the active mine area. The
dragline was backfilling spoil behind the open cut and it appears a dozer has been grading the backfilled spoil
behind the dragline.
East A -Pit remains idle. It appears the operator is either pumping water from the east A -Pit or running an
evaporation machine.
Two truck and shovel crew appeared active at the time of the inspection, mining in the K/L/M -Pit area.
A dragline appeared to be mining at the southern end of the active mine area in either the L/M -Pit area.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The affected area north of the reclaimed F -Pit parcel, south of the Life of Mine Road surrounding the 2.6 and 2.7-
acre Phase III released A -B -98 parcels was observed. This area was snow covered but appeared stable. The
portions of the East Pyeatt reconstructed channels surrounding this area appeared stable.
Reclaimed F -Pit parcels (2001 to 2012) were observed. These parcels were snow covered but appeared stable.
The western most branches of the East Pyeatt reconstructed channels were observed. The southern reaches
appeared stable and the check dams were visible through the snow.
Parcels Z -A -12 and Z -A -13 were observed. These parcels were snow covered but appeared stable.
Parcel Z -AB -05 was observed. This parcel was snow covered but several erosion rills or gullies were visible on
the southeast portion of the parcel. It is difficult to tell the severity of these erosion features given the snow
condition, TMI should monitor this area in the spring. The portion of the Oak Gulch reconstructed drainage
adjacent to this parcel was snow covered but appeared a little incised. Again, this is difficult to know for sure
given the snow conditions.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
The east panel ready line, explosives storage area and the equipment storage area along the west ash dump pit road
was observed and no problems were noted.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 15
