Introduction
Two ditches have been designed and built to convey surface water runoff into Ditch NHN -001
East from the topsoil stockpile area, and the SW1 -A drainage area around the facility haul road
and facilities area. These ditches are known as the Haul Road South Ditch and the Haul Road
North Ditch.
Stormwater Data
There are two main drainage areas that drain to the haul road ditches. SW1 -A drains into the
Haul Road North Ditch, and SW -TS drains into the Haul Road South Ditch. Table 2.05.3(4) -9 -1
shows the size, and runoff data for each of these subwatersheds.
Table 2.05.3(4) -9 -1
Subwatershed
Area
10 -YR, 24 -HR
25 -YR, 24 -HR
acres
Runoff
(ac -ft)
Peak
Flow (cfs)
Runoff Peak
(ac -ft) Flow (cfs)
SW 1 -A
33.96
3.34
36.83
SW2 -TS1
9.00
0.866
9.56
Haul Road Ditch Designs
Each of the Haul Road ditches was designed using the 10YR, 24HR event runoff, since they are
temporary.
