allow passage and to minimize disturbance of the hydrologic balance. Light -use roads will utilize
culverts designed to safely pass the 10 -year, 24 -hour precipitation event. Ditches and drainage
control will be established during construction and maintenance of the roads to minimize erosion
and to assist traffic passage.
Design and Construction Light -use roads will be field engineered to follow the existing
topography as much as practicable. Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled in accordance with
WFC's topsoil salvage plan. The horizontal and vertical alignment will be dictated by the
topography and the need to avoid obstructions. Light -use road surfacing material will be
adequate for the use of the road. Acid or toxic - forming substances will not be used in the road
surfacing. Light -use roads will be maintained to minimize erosion and to allow passage of traffic.
List of Light Use Roads
1. Pond NH 1 -001 Maintenance Road
a. This road is roughly 2,300 feet long, stretching from the south side of AA Road
southward along the west side of WFC owned property to Pond NH 1 -001. The
road will be maintained at a width of 12 feet wide. The road will be gravel
surfaced and used to access Pond NH 1 -001 and a surface water line running along
the road. A pre -mine roadway exists along this path, so no further excavation will
be needed, only graveling. Since there is no additional excavation, no new surface
water controls are needed.
County Roads
Mining and reclamation activities will be conducted within 100 feet of the outside right -of -way
of current public roads. However, when blasting or any other mining activities which could
create a potential safety hazard are occurring, public access will be prevented and traffic will
bypass the specific work area while such activity is being conducted. These activities will be
sequenced in a manner to allow public travel through the area on other public roads in the
immediate vicinity.
Section 2.05.3(3) Page 10 October 2013 (TR -05)
E: \New Horizon \DRMS \NHN Permit \04_Techmcal Revisions TR \TR -05 \Documents from Jason \2.05.3(3) Mine Facilities TR- 05.docx
