designation, Mining is anticipated to take five years, and up to another 10 years amlil (NJober <br />22, 20113 to complete all reclamation activities. <br />Mining Filling <br />l he proposed mining activities arc anticipated to take Live years, and up ten years to complete all <br />reclamation activities, This site would be tier mining, tilling and processing, only. A processing; <br />plant will he utilized for this operation and change locations periodically as mining progressed. <br />The actual area to mine would consist of I 1 acres, It should he noted the Colorado Uivision of <br />Minerals and Oeology has Issued a permit. The sand and gravel resources average about 15 Ii ci <br />in depth. Access to the site would be from the existing driveway onto the 1 -76 Frontage Road. <br />The site is proposed to be "wet" mined, and as a result will not be dew•atercd nor would a slurry <br />wall./clay liner be installed. Initial disturbance of'thc site would involve clearing of'the site of <br />existing structures in preparation of mining. 'Topsoil and overburden would be stockpiled on site <br />for use in site reclamation, Excess overburden and topsoil may be hauled (il1'sife throughout the <br />life of the inine. 'Topsoil, overburden, sand and gravel will be excavated by front end loaders, <br />scrapers, excavators, or similar equipment and may be transported by conveyor belt system or <br />haul truck. Hours of opwration are anticipated to be 1'rrim barn to 10 pen Monday through <br />Saturday. The average annual production is anticipated to be 250,0(() tons per year. Mining <br />would proceed from the southeast along the 1 -76 Frontage Road to the north and northwest as <br />shown on the plans. <br />Filling of the site would occur concurrently with training. The material propat4cd to he imported <br />to fill this site originates from two sources• The first source is rock quarry material (fine rock <br />and quarry tailings) from the Albert Frei and Sons (AFS) Ocar Creek Cotmty Quam. Thiw <br />material would be stored and crushed at the AFS Recycle Facility at Colorado Boulevard and F' <br />72nd Avenue. Crushing, produces various si= of aggregate materials and crusher fines_ The <br />second source would be inert material from Denver Water 1ioord wilily cuts. This material <br />would also I--- steered at the AFS Recycle Facility at Colorado Boulevard and F 7214 Avenue, <br />where the material is separated into like sized pieces and then crushed to create various sines of <br />aggregate materials and crusher lines. Inert clean soil would also he separated from the Denver <br />Water Board material_ the aggregate and crusher fines from both the Clear Creek County <br />Quarry and the Dmvcr Water ]Board projects, as well as the soil from the Denver NVatcr Board <br />projects would all he imjxartmt and utilized to fill the site_ The applicant anticipates Deeding at <br />least 400.000 cubic yards of material_ <br />' a lm <br />Truck traffic exiting the site with gravel would primarily exit onto the Frontagc Road to Hwy <br />224, and then to 1 -76. Since the only source ofinert fill would he from the AFS Recycle Plant at <br />I41st 72nd Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, i 'lie haul route would consist of the following: north <br />to Sit 224, east on SH 224 to Dahlia Street, north on Dahlia to the 1 -76 Service Road to the site's <br />entrance. Alternatively, the mute could consist of the following: north to SH 224, west on Sit <br />224 to the I -76 Frontage Road and then to the site's entrance.
