Oakridge Energy, Inc.
C- 1992 -080 / PR -01 / AdegReview #1
08- Dec -2014
multiple times in the history of this mine and all of them have been discussed in this
revision. Please clarify which post mining land use is being discussed.
4. The permit text on page 5 -9 describes the reference area as 1.7 acres and Appendix 5 -14
describes it being 1.5 acres. Please clarify the acreage of the reference area.
5. Where the post mining land use is dryland pasture, the success standard will be that of the
proposed reference area. The text on page 5 -9 states that the proposed reference area
contains a mixture of pasture grasses, mountain shrub and pinyon juniper vegetation
communities. The reference area being proposed does not have the same plant
community as that of a dryland pasture. Rule 4.15.7(3)(a) states that a reference area
shall be selected to represent each plant community within the disturbed area. Please
explain why a mountain shrub and pinyon juniper vegetation community is being
proposed as a reference area for a dryland pasture.
6. Please include a discussion as to how the reference area will be managed especially as it
pertains to grazing and weed control (Rule 4.15.7(3)(d)).
7. The permit text on page 5 -17 has the heading 2.05.5(2) Proposed Post - Mining Land Use
(2014). Rule 2.05.5(2) is actually about the post mining land uses for underground
mines. Please amend the nomenclature so it does not appear that underground mining
activities are being addressed. Also, please remove `Proposed' in the heading.
2.05.5 — Post Mining Land Uses
1. A map of the post mining land uses was not included in the permit application. Please
submit a map prepared to the standards of Rule 2.10 showing all the post mining land
uses for the area within the current permit boundary (Rule 2.05.5(1)(c)).
Appendix 5 -14
1. On page 1, the second paragraph of the introduction describes the location of the mine
site and references figure 1. Figure 1 was not included with this appendix. Please submit
figure 1 which shows the location of the mine site.
2. In section 2.2.2 of Appendix 5 -14, it states that no transects were allowed to extend
within 10 feet of the reference area boundary. Using the scale provided on the 2014
Reference Area Sample Points photo, two points fall within 10 feet of the perimeter. One
of the two points is in the SE corner along the southern border and the other is on the
eastern border, second from the north. Please clarify if these points were used in the data
set.
3. The first hit data points were provided and are listed in Table 2 of Appendix. Using this
data, the total vegetative covers values were verified. The data for the quantitative cover
