November 7, 2014 C- 1981 - 046 /Sunlight Mine BFB
Sediment Pond A below the scale area did not contain water. The inlet culvert from under County Road 117 had a
small gully forming. There were several small diameter (2 "4") trees growing in the bottom of the pond (photo 6).
The outlet was a 4" pipe that was free and clear of obstructions.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The reclamation on the lower adit looked very good. The clumps of sod that were planted during the
reconstruction had new growth (photo 2). The topsoil borrow area for the reconstruction also had vegetation
growing but more annuals were present. This may be because the topsoil area was not reconstructed with sod
clumps.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
The DRMS sign on the upper backfilled area was in place and remarkably does not have any bullet holes
in it (photo 7).
PHOTOGRAPHS
TT r 1 r11 A
Photo 2 — Lower Adit Backfill Area
Photo 3 — Clean Water Diversion Ditch Photo 4 — West Culvert Inlet
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 4
