Red Rock Crusher
The red rock crusher site was constructed on an area previously disturbed by mining, and the area was subsequently
not reclaimed. Therefore, the requirements of Rule 4.15.10 can be applied to this area. That is, the best available
plant growth media topsoil or other suitable material in the reaffected area can be used and a minimum ground cover
established not less than the ground cover, which existed before redisturbance.
The portion of the No. 5A portal area sampled during September 1983 will be used as the success standard for the red
rock crusher site. Baseline vegetation data is discussed in Section 2.04.10 Vegetation Information under the heading
of Ve etg ation Sampling. The study conducted in September 1983 revealed that mean ground cover of perennial
grasses, Forbes, and shrubs was 32.5 percent. Therefore, this area will be successfully revegetated when ground cover
reaches 33 percent and no erosion problems are noted.
Permit Renewal No. 4 2.05 -34.1 Revised 3/5/03
