HISTORY <br />REGfXvED <br />November 20, 2014 NQ� 25 204 <br />Robert D Zuber Reai \ on' <br />Environmental Protection Specialist r of sy <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety W1609 & <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Southfield Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -014), Technical Revision No. 43 (TR -43), Request to Terminate Water <br />Monitoring Program (CHS #66982) <br />Dear Mr. Zuber: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated November 14, 2014 (received by our office on November 18, 2014) <br />regarding the referenced undertaking. <br />As the permitted, affected or approved disturbed acreage within the Southfield Mine will not increase and, in <br />fact, the undertaking appears largely administrative in nature, it is our opinion that a finding of no historic <br />properties affected is appropriate for this undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />The consultation process does involve other consulting parties including local governments and Tribes, which as <br />stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided by <br />these consulting parties may cause our office to re- evaluate our comments and recommendations. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places <br />eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
