Box 483
Paonia, CO 81428
Re: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C- 1996 -083)
September 2014 CDPS Discharge Monitoring Reports
Dear Mr. Bear:
The Division has received and reviewed Bowie Resources, LLC`s (BRL) September 2014 Discharge
Monitoring Reports (DMRs) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. BRL submits the DMRs to the Division
monthly in accordance with Rule 4.05.13(2).
BRL reported discharges from the sewage treatment plant and Pond B, consistent with Division
observations of water levels and BRL reported discharges during the month of September.
BRL reported exceedances of both the 30 day average and the seven day maximum for total
suspended solids in the discharge from the sewage treatment plant. Discharge from the
treatment plant passes through Pond B or Pond C before being discharged off site; Pond C was not
discharged during the reporting period, and there were no exceedances in the discharge reported
from Pond B.
The Division has no further questions or comments regarding the reports. If you have any questions
or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Susan L. Burgmaier
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Jim Stover, J.E.
