Boron: state table 5 referenced off sat paste extraction. Other state
lists reference off Hot Water extraction and this is what we perform and it is what is in ASA and other
reference materials. Hot water extraction A SA No. 9 method 80 -3.
Mercury (Hg) ppm Acid extract Mercury: state table 5 references acid extraction for Hg. Acid digestions
volatize Hg and thus Hg is not listed as approved metal on any EPA standard digestion methods such as
EPA 3050. Running Hg off a EPA 3050 acid digestion would produce invalid data. ACZ uses a state -of- the -art
direction combustion AA for solids for Hg. EPA Method 7473, MILL 2 ng /go
* Additional methods may be substituted with prior approval from the Division.
* * References which describe these methods:
ASTM, 1980, Gaseous fuels; coal and coke; atmospheric analysis: annual book ofASTM
Please call me if you have any questions.
Kind Regards,
Tim J.
