Hatchery Pit Page 4 Permit # M- 2014 -043 • A pipe is not feasible on the Phase 1 area since the ground- water elevation matches the Bull Seep and the gradient is such that a positive drain could not be achieved. If needed a ditch will be constructed along the up gradient sides of the slurry wall and extend to Bull Seep to relieve any mounding if it occurs. • As applicable to the Phase 2 area a pipe drain could be placed at an elevation near the top and parallel to the slurry wall and would then be backfilled over. This would keep the groundwater well below surrounding properties but still provide for an outlet should it be needed. Determin- ing the need for a drain in Phase 2 can be done once the slurry wall is installed and dewatering begins. Down Gradient Mitigation • Well improvements. Affected water wells could be deepened or modified to increase yield. Alternatively, new alluvial wells could be constructed to provide a new water supply. • Frei would provide temporary replacement, if needed, while studies to determine fault are being conducted, or while mitigation measures are in the process of being implemented. The exact mitigation measure or combination of measures would be determined based on additional investigations and consultations with the affected party. Costs for implementation and maintenance of mitigation measures needed resulting from Frei operations would be borne by Frei. Data Collection and Submittal to the Division wells that will be installed around the perimeter of the operation will have data collected on a monthly basis for the first year and then quarterly there after. The data from these piezometers will be use to monitor for compliance to stay within baseline ranges, as changes at these wells could affect neigh- bors. The operator will give the Division a groundwater monitoring well data summary report that includes, groundwater level data, times the trigger points were exceeded, investigations into cause, and any needed mitigation analysis /plans, with the annual report. The operator will also contact the Division with this information when /if a trigger point is reached and there seems to be a trend. 4
