PROPOSED PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Technical Revision No.44 (TR -44) - Southfield Mine — Permit No. C -81 -014 <br />Revision Request to Change Status of Pond 5 to a Permanent Structure. <br />Energy Fuels Coal Inc. (EFCI), 115 E. Main Street, STE 10, P.O. Box 459, Florence, Colorado <br />81226, has filed an approval request for Technical Revision No.44 (TR -44) with the State of <br />Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). All mining operations subject <br />to this permit have ceased, and only reclamation and monitoring activities are occurring. <br />Items addressed by the TR -44 Revision Request consist of conversion of the temporary status of <br />sedimentation Pond 5 to a permanent status whereby the pond remains as a permanent structure <br />for the purpose of supplying a water source to support wildlife and livestock watering. Leaving <br />Pond 5 as a permanent structure will enhance the approved post mining land use which is <br />approved for rangeland livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. <br />The Southfield Mine area is located approximately eight miles south of Florence, Colorado, on <br />County Road 92. The Mine area is bounded on the south and west by the base of the Wet <br />Mountains, and Newlin Creek bisects the mine area from southwest to northeast. <br />The Southfield Mine permit area is located on portions of the following sections: <br />Sections 19, 30, and 31; Township 20S, Range 69W, 6`h Principal Meridian <br />Sections 23, 24, 25, 26 and 36; Township 20S, Range 70W, 6`h Principal Meridian <br />These sections are shown on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Rockvale quadrangle map <br />(Mine Area). <br />Pond 5 is situate in the SW4, SE4, Section 19, Range 69W, Township 20S of the 6`h P.M. <br />A complete copy of the Southfield Permit Revision Application is on file and available for public <br />inspection in both the Clerk and Recorders Office in the Fremont County Courthouse, Carton <br />City, Colorado, and the DRMS offices located at the following address: <br />Colorado Department of Natural Resources <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Phone: (303) 866 -3567 <br />Additional information regarding the subject application may be obtained at the DRMS.
