2.04.8 Climatological Information
(1) The Bowie No. 2 Mines lies on a south facing slope within the North Fork
Valley at the old townsite of Bowie. At the mine the valley is fairly wide with
steep sides and follows a general east west orientation. The topographic
variation in west central Colorado results in marked fluctuation in the
seasonal and average precipitation and temperature for the entire year.
(1)(a) The mean monthly precipitation.
The closest weather station to the permit area where precipitation data is
available is the Wilcox Ranch Station. This weather station was located just
east of Bowie in the Hubbard Creek Drainage. The period of record for this
station is from 1948 to 1983.
