Exhibit L
Reclamation Costs
Refer to the attached Exhibit F-Reclamation Plan Map showing the generalized final grades
for all disturbed areas. No ponds will be constructed for mining operations and no ponded
areas are proposed for final grades.
The information to calculate the cost of reclamation are provided below.
1: Assumes mine reclamation will be performed/cost incurred by the State in the unlikely
event the applicant cannot perform the reclamation.
2: The maximum disturbed area requiring reclamation will be when phase 6 is prepared
and phase 7 has just started. The mining plan proposes to reclaim individual phases as the
next cell is stripped and mined. Under this scenario, phases 1 thru 5 will have been
reclaimed and phase 6 will be partially reclaimed.Topsoil from phase 7 will be used to
partially reclaim phase 6 with the remainder stockpiled in a portion of phase 6. For this
estimate it is assumed one-fourth (1/4) of phase 6 will require earthwork and the entire
area in phase 6 will require seeding and mulching and maintenance.Additionally all of
phase 7 will require earthwork as well as seeding, mulching and maintenance. Keeping in
mind the access road is to remain in place as per the request of the land owner.
3: The topsoil available for reclamation is estimated to be:
a. Total topsoil placement: (25%of phase 6+ 100%phase 7)x 6"average thickness
= 17.55 acres of maximum disturbance X 43560 x.50/27= 14,157 cubic yds.'of top
soil.
b. Seeding and Mulching maximum area: ( All of phase 6 and all of phase 7) 11.09
acres+ 14.78 acres=25.87 acres. Per Greely NRCS no irrigation is required. Please
refer to Exhibit F Reclamation Plan for recommended seeding mixture.
Fxh►b`A L N
