PUBLIC NOTICE CAM MINING LLC, P.O. Box 98, Lome, CO 81524, has submitted an applica- tion for a bond release to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safely far He Manger Canyon Mine, mining per. mil No. C- 1981- 020.The mining permit was initially approved on January 13, 1983 and most recently renewed on January 13, 2013. The current posted reclamation bond Is S65,966 and Is in the form of a corporate surety. This permit action will release approxi- moiety S24,000 of the bond liability. The area for which partial bond re- lease Is baing requested is the Mung• er Canyon portal site, haul road, light use road and reclaimed coal mine waste disposal area. Fine€ bond re- lease Is being requested at the Loma Loadout. During 2001 the 2.9 acre Loma load- out was contoured and seeded.There was poor initial vegetative establish- ment. During 2004 the 2.9 acre Loma loadout was re- seeded with a salt tolerant seed mixture. During 2005 a 1.6 acre light use road located In Munger Canyon was contoured and seeded, The mine portal area, haul road and coat mine waste disposal arcs, encompassing 14.0 acres, were contoured and seeded during 2007. During the ensuing years the vegeta- tion has lloyrished, Based on a veg- etation evaluation performed during May and June 2013, a demonstration was mode that untreated drainage from the reclaimed areas do not con- tribute additional suspended solids above natural conditions. The vegeta- tion study at the mine site concludes the area sampled readily passes the Rround cove; requirement for Phase band release. The vegetation study at the Loma loadout concludes the area exhibits a stable, shrub and lorhydominaled vegelalecm commu- nity that appears more than capable of supporting numerous post-distur- bance land uses. The Munger Canyon Mine Is located in Garfield County approximate)y 18 miles north of Loma, CO along State Highway 139. East Sall Creek Is lo- cated on the western portion of the permit boundary. Most of the surface of the pp're'I area is owned by the United States.The mine site is located in Garfield County, approximately 18 miles north of Loma, CO along Stale Highway 139.The mine site Is located In the SW /4 of Section 27 the N/2S/2, S12N12 and N12NEJ4 at section 28 and the S/2NE14 Section 29, Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 61h P.M. A portion of $,te permit area in section 29 is owned by 911 Enterprises. The Lome Loadout Is located in Mesa Coumy approximately one-half mile east of Loma, CO. The loadout is located south of the Union Pacific mainline west of 13.5 road. The sur- face of the permit area is owned by the Union Pacific Rollroad.The permit area is encompassed within portions of the SW14W14 of Section 34 Town• ship 2 North, Range 3 West, Ule Me- ridian and portions of the NE/4NW14 of Section 3 Township 1 North, Range 3 West, Ute Meridian. The mine 'rte sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Howard Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. The Load- out sections are contained within the U.S. GeologIcal Survey 7.5 minute Mack Quadrangle Map. A copy of the bond release applica- tion i$ available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and Re- corder's office, 544 Rood Ave., Grand Junction, CO. A cop of the approved permit application document, as well as the bond release application, are available at the Denver office of the Division.of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman St„ Denver, CO 80203, (303 866 -3567. Written comments or objections to the proposed release, and a request for a public hearing or informal con- ference may be submitted to and additional information obtained from the D €vWDn of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Comments, objections or requests for a public hearing or infor- mal conference most be made within thirty (30) days of the last publication of Chia notice or within thirty (30) days of the completed bond release inspection, whichever is later.
