<br />Public Notice
<br />New Elk Coal Company, LLC, 12250 Highway 12,
<br />Weston, Colorado, 81091, has filed an application for a
<br />technical revision to Permit C -81 -012 for the New Elk
<br />Mine with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining
<br />and Safety (DBMS). The New Elk Mine is located 24
<br />miles west of Trinidad, Colorado in Las Animas County.
<br />The mine permit area consists of 222.6 acres located
<br />within Sections 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28,
<br />TS33S, R68W. These sections can be located on the
<br />USGS 7.5 minutes Vigil and Weston quadrangle maps.
<br />This Technical Revision is to modify the RDA Haul Road
<br />design, to add a new section of belt to the RDA belt
<br />network, and to update surface structures.
<br />Copies of all applications and map associated with this
<br />technical revision are on file for the public inspection at
<br />the Las Animas County Courthouse, Office of the
<br />Recorder and with the Division of Minerals and Geology.
<br />Any written comments, objections or requests for a public
<br />hearing or informal conference regarding this revision
<br />must be submitted to the Division of Reclamation, Mining
<br />and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver
<br />Colorado 80203 within ten days of the date of the
<br />publication of this notice.
