Trapper's Response: Enclosed find a new M54 map series that includes the
requested information [Map M54D (QR Aquifer), Map M54E (KLM Aquifer),
Map M54F (HI Aquifer), Map M54G (20 -Mile, 2"' White and 3' White Sandstone
Aquifers and Alluvial Aquifer) and Map M54H (U Aquifer)]. Table of Contents
pages iv -4 and iv -5 are also enclosed. Page iv -4 is revised; page iv -5 is a new page.
11. For the expansion area, please submit a map that depicts the location and extent of sub - surface water, if
encountered within the proposed permit and adjacent areas, including but not limited to areal and
vertical distribution of aquifers, and an estimate of seasonal variations of aquifer characteristics on cross
section and contour maps as appropriate; in accordance with rule 2.04.7(4)(c).
Division's Adequacy #4 Comment: Trapper submitted revised M54 series maps depicting
ground water elevations for some of the aquifers within the permit and proposed expansion area
for the "SS ", HI and the QR aquifers. It is unclear which aquifer the map designation "SS" is
depicting since there are three different sandstone aquifers within Trapper's permit area. The
areal and vertical distribution of the 2' White Sandstone, 31 White Sandstone and 20 Mile
Sandstone aquifers will need to be depicted. Water elevation maps were not submitted for the
alluvial aquifer, the "KLM" aquifer, or "U" aquifer. Please submit maps for the aquifers cited
above for the expansion area.
Trapper's Response: See Trapper's response to No 8.a. above.
4.08.1 Surface Water
23. Trapper did not submit detailed designs for post- mining drainage channels, as required by
Rules 2.05.3(4),4.05.3(l), 4.05.3(1)(e), 4.05.3(7).
Trapper's Response: This issue is still pending discussions between the Division and
Trapper concerning the consultant's study.
2.05.3 Operations Plan — Permit Area
Division's New Comment. Based on Trapper's 2013 annual reclamation report, Trapper
identified a discrepancy in the accounting of cumulative disturbed acreage at the site. Based on
this the Division conducted a review of the permit to determine compliance with Rule
2.05.3(2)(a). Please address the following items:
I. Section 3.1.4.1 of the permit discusses the mining sequence. Map M4, M I OA and M l OB depict
the disturbance area boundaries for the next permit term. Rule 2.05.3(2)(a) requires the
maximum acreage proposed for each phase of the operations within the permit area be specified.
For each pit area that has been disturbed and is proposed to be disturbed, please indicate the total
area that has been disturbed and the maximum area to be disturbed during the 2013 -2017 permit
term.
II. Related to the item above, please specify the total disturbed acreage for the site in section 3.1.4.1
of the permit. This acreage should be the total cumulative disturbed area acreage to date less the
area that has been Phase III bond release; plus the total proposed disturbance area for the 2013-
