Project Number: 74201125NO <br />Project: Squaw Gulch Valley Leach Fill (VLF) Week Ending: October 18, 2014 <br />Location: Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine, CO <br />Contractor: Ames Construction, Inc. <br />Reporting Period: 10.12.2014 through 10.18.2014 <br />Ambient Temperature Ranges During Week Weather Conditions During Week: <br />Highs: 44 °F to 63 °F Cloud Cover: Partly cloudy to overcast <br />Lows. 26 °F to 37 °F Precipitation: None <br />Wind: Variable <br />Ames: Continuing construction tasks for the Valley Leach Facility (VLF). <br />Planning: Continuing construction activities and scheduling for the VLF. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES AND PROGRESS: <br />1) Earthworks <br />A) VLF (PSSA, Phase 1, and 2) <br />Topsoil /Overburden Stripping: None. <br />Tree Grubbing and Clearing, Chipping: None. <br />Production Drilling: No production drilling occurred in the VLF. <br />Production Blasting: No production blasting took place within the VLF. <br />Structural Fill: (Day and Night Shift) <br />An AMEC field professional monitored fill material temperatures placed within the fill areas. <br />Average structural fill temperatures were above 32°F. All structural fill material discussed below <br />was placed in a maximum nominal thickness of 3 feet and compacted per the project technical <br />specifications unless otherwise stated. <br />Haul trucks transported material from the Surge Area near station 50 +00 on the Phase 2 <br />Diversion Channel alignment to the Buttress Fill Area upslope of Bench J stations J6 +00 to <br />J14 +00. The material was placed as structural fill by dozers. An excavator with a rock hammer <br />attachment broke apart any oversized material encountered.
