Travis Marshall MINING AND SAFETy
Re: /Request for extension to corrective action period
DeBeque Gravel Pit- M -191 -058
Mr. Marshalll, ✓✓
Kirkland Construction acting on behalf of Thomas Latham is requesting a 31 day-,extension
extension
to the corrective action due date for the possible problem described in the Seofember 2,
2014, Minerals Program Inspection Report for the DeBeque Gravel Pit, permit # M -1981-
058. The original due date is October 31, 2014, the extension would make the new due date,
Monday December 1st, 2014.
During the time extension Kirkland will have a crew spray the Tamarisk plants with Garlon.
Garlon is a 3A herbicide that was approved for use by the Colorado State Department of
Wildlife. We have used this product on several other permitted mines with good results.
In addition to the spraying the crew will seed the topsoil stockpile. Once the work has been
done we will send pictures and copies of the seed tags to show compliance with the
corrective action described in the report referenced above.
Please contact me at 719 - 489 -3385 with any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Kirkland Construction, LLLP
Leonard Read
O 719- 489 -3385
C 480 -406 -7725
leonard@kirklandconstruction.us
